Mark Lawrenson is backing Manchester City to beat West Ham United tonight.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Manchester City will beat West Ham United 2-0 at the London Stadium this evening.
West Ham head into the game having claimed five wins in their last seven, including back-to-back wins against Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough, with the Hammers winning those games by a combined six goals to one.
If anything the unhappiness of Dimitri Payet has almost led to a more united West Ham team, and with the playmaker now sold to Marseille, the Hammers will be hoping to continue their recent form.

New signings Jose Fonte and Robert Snodgrass will be in contention to play tonight, with West Ham hoping for better fortunes than their last game against Manchester City at the London Stadium, as Pep Guardiola’s men claimed a thumping 5-0 FA Cup win in East London last month.

City have been in patchy league form of late, as they’ve won one, drawn one and lost two of their last four games, with Guardiola’s men giving up a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Tottenham in their last league game.

Ahead of tonight’s game, pundit Mark Lawrenson has offered his prediction to BBC Sport, claiming that City will claim a 2-0 win this evening.
Lawrenson noted that West Ham are improving, and whilst he thinks that they will keep the score down compared to the last game against City, he still thinks Guardiola’s men will come out on top.
“Manchester City put five past West Ham when they came here in the FA Cup at the start of January,” said Lawrenson. “West Ham are improving, and I don’t think things will be quite so one-sided this time around, but I am still backing City to win.”
“Pep Guardiola’s side took a bit of a battering when they lost to Everton on 15 January but they have put in some impressive performances since then,” he added.
