Rangers rescued a last-gasp draw against Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday night as Ross McCausland caught the eye in Poland.
Philippe Clement experienced a rather frustrating start to the new Scottish Premiership season.
Rangers could only muster a 0-0 draw at Heart of Midlothian on Saturday, producing a fairly toothless display.
Fans weren’t exactly impressed with that opening-day display but the attention very quickly turned to European action.
Rangers travelled to Poland to take on Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday night and looked to be heading towards defeat.
Rangers fell 1-0 down to Andriy Yarmolenko’s goal before Cyriel Dessers popped up in the dying seconds to rescue a draw.

Derek Ferguson on Rangers talent Ross McCausland
Rangers head back to Ibrox for the second leg on level terms, something which didn’t look likely to happen as the seconds ticked down.
Dessers scored the goal and it was brilliant approach play from new signing Vaclav Cerny to create the goal.
Cerny has been brought in on loan from Wolfsburg to produce moments of quality just like he did on Tuesday night.
Pundit Derek Ferguson was in no doubt of Rangers’ star man on the night though – and it wasn’t Dessers or Cerny.
Winger Ross McCausland was the man who caught the eye for Ferguson.
McCausland has long been backed to shine for Rangers and we have started to see that come to fruition.
The Northern Ireland international enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season and showed promising signs under Clement.
McCausland was a constant threat against Dynamo too and almost scored an incredible goal.
Dancing away from three Dynamo players, McCausland unleashed a left-footed strike which cannoned back off the post.
McCausland left Ferguson impressed and the pundit offered up his praise to BBC Sport.
Former Rangers man Ferguson felt that McCausland turned in an ‘excellent’ performance and could take real pride from his display.
“McCausland can hold his head high, he’s been excellent tonight,” said Ferguson.
McCausland faces competition
Scott Wright started on the opposite flank for Rangers but once again had no impact on the game.
Wright was hooked at half time, which is becoming quite the occurrence, with new addition Jefte coming on.
Cerny showed his quality with that brilliant assist whilst Rabbi Matondo is in contention too.
That means McCausland faces major competition for places and may find himself in and out of the Rangers side.
Yet if he can keep causing problems as he did against Dynamo, Clement will surely call up on him throughout the campaign.
