Ex-Arsenal forward Theo Walcott couldn’t help but aim a sly dig at Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur yesterday following their 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.
The recently retired footballer, who enjoyed many good moments against Tottenham in Arsenal colours, was analysing Ollie Watkins’ winning goal.
The Aston Villa striker moved slightly forward, dragging Ben Davies out of position, before playing a one-two, then receiving the ball back from Youri Tielemans, running in behind whilst taking a first touch and firing in his goal with his second touch.
As Arsenal fans will love very much, Theo Walcott’s response to that was ‘I lived off running in behind Tottenham’, as he told Match of the Day 2.
That left MOTD 2 presenter Mark Chapman stunned, who stated ‘you have gone early there’.
Former Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas just nodded his head in disagreement beside him, but Theo Walcott himself certainly enjoyed that one.

“You know what I really enjoyed is just the slight sort of body movement,” said Walcott. “Because he has been running in behind much the whole game. He has just put Ben Davies in doubt a little bit.
“Ollie wants to come in, but just drops back and gives him that space, and I lived off running in behind Tottenham, so I am pretty happy.”
Mark Chapman responded: “Woah, you have gone early there, Theo!”

Aston Villa down sorry Tottenham
That’s three defeats in three for Postecoglou’s Spurs – after yesterday’s match, Villa’s official account brutally mocked the London club.
Not so long ago, Spurs were sitting top of the Premier League tree. Now they are outside of the Champions League places – Unai Emery was still complimentary towards the Spurs boss.
And it doesn’t get any easier because it’s the Treble winners Manchester City up next.
The slight positive for Postecoglou and his side is that the likes of Yves Bissouma and Cristian Romero will return to the XI after suspensions.
