Bayern Munich would be ‘completely crazy’ to pay the sort of fee Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur want for Harry Kane, the Bundesliga club’s honorary president Uli Hoeness says in quotes provided by Sky Germany.
If reports are to be believed, Bayern value Kane in and around the £45 million bracket (90Min). And, to be honest, you can see why. Kane, after all, will turn 30 this year. What’s more, his contract is due to expire in the summer of 2024.
Usually, £45 million would be more than enough to sign a 29-year-old just 12 months away from becoming a free-agent. But Harry Kane is no ordinary footballer, and Daniel Levy is no ordinary chairman.

According to The Sun, it would take more than double that fee to twist Spurs’ arm. A fee Hoeness is not exactly keen to see Bayern pay at a time where there are younger and potentially cheaper options on the market.
Will Harry Kane leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer?
“I think the transfer is completely crazy,” says Hoeness.
“Last year Tottenham rejected 160 million euros (£140m) from Manchester City. Do you think he is cheaper this year? Harry Kane is a great player, no question about it. But that’s money I won’t pay.”
Sky add that, at the Allianz Arena, all board members must approve incoming transfers worth more than £20 million. Any pursuit of Kane, then, is unlikely to receive Hoeness’ seal of approval, especially after Bayern tied the in-form Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting to a new contract.
“Basically, I think our squad is the best in the world. The only question mark before the season was at ‘number nine’,” Hoeness adds.
“I was totally surprised by Choupo-Moting’s increase in performance. A really good centre-forward.”
Choupo-Moting, formerly of Stoke City of course, has 16 goals in just 18 starts under Julian Nagelsmann this term. Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is delighted to see the Cameroon international commit his future to the Bundesliga leaders, while simultaneously ruling out a summer bid for Kane.
