Barcelona midfielder Pedri has had his say on one of the club’s key targets this summer, Nico Williams.
There have been some standout performers at the 2024 European Championship in Germany but Spanish winger Nico Williams has been one of the best players to watch during this summer tournament.
Spain, alongside the hosts Germany, have probably been two of the best sides to watch at the European Championships and that has been down to the pace and trickery of Athletic Bilbao winger Williams.
His performances for his national team this summer has led to interest from across Europe and the Premier League.

Pedri comments on Barcelona’s interest in Williams
Sources have told HITC that Barcelona regard Williams as one of their top targets this summer with the Spaniard also understood to be keen on a move to the Camp Nou.
Speaking to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Pedri, who has been a key player for the Spanish giants for a number of seasons, has spoken out about the prospect of Williams moving to the Nou Camp.
“Nico Williams would be a spectacular signing for us at Barcelona, it’d be incredible,” he said. “He’s a player who is already showing what he’s capable of. I hope he can join us.”
Last season in La Liga for Bilbao, Williams struck five times for the Basque giants and also provided 11 assists and he has continued this form into the international tournament.
Despite interest from elsewhere, Williams’ priority this summer is understood to be Barcelona and the feeling appears to be mutual.
Williams wants Barcelona despite Premier League interest
As mentioned, there is interest from elsewhere with HITC understanding that Arsenal and Liverpool remain keen on the winger.
There have also been talks with Newcastle United and Aston Villa but as mentioned the player’s preference has been to move to the La Liga giants.
Williams has been hailed for his performances at the international tournament with English winger Andros Townsend labelling the 21-year-old as ‘fearless‘.
