FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez and club captain Sergio Busquets has been floored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after his hat-trick display against Valencia on the weekend.
Speaking to Goal, the duo were impressed by the former Arsenal skipper’s performance for the Catalan giants, with Aubameyang making his first La Liga for the Catalan giants since joining on deadline day in January.
Aubameyang was released by Arsenal after being dropped from the squad and stripped of the captaincy for breaking multiple disciplinary breaches, with the striker winning a move to Barcelona in the process.
Whilst the striker struggled for form with Arsenal this season, Aubameyang has taken to life in Barcelona with flying colours, with the forward bagging a hat-trick against Valencia. And both Xavi and Busquets have been impressed by the Gabon international.
The Barcelona manager said: “[Aubameyang was] good, very good. Perhaps he struggled a bit to link up with his teammates. He is a player with a very good physical capacity. He has tried, his pressing was intense, which we have missed.”
Whilst Busquets added: “He’s working really well. Aubameyang came to Barcelona needing minutes but he is getting them now. I hope he helps us like this because he is a great player and having him in the squad on a free transfer is a gift.”
Aubameyang will flourish with Barcelona after Arsenal departure

Aubameyang has not been his confident self in some time, yet based on his performance for Barcelona this weekend, the forward is beginning to get back to brilliant best after a torrid 18 months with Arsenal.
The striker needed a change of scenery, and Barcelona is already proving to be an incredible destination for Aubameyang, with Arsenal likely to regret letting the attacker leave north London midway through the season.
