Arsenal have a number of positions that need strengthening this summer, and right back should be one of the priorities.

Hector Bellerin’s future is up in the air, Cedric Soares seemingly isn’t trusted as a first-choice option and Calum Chambers is more of a defensive player in that role.

Spanish newspaper Sport now claim that Arsenal have made contact over a potential move for Barcelona right back Sergino Dest.

Dest isn’t interested though, and is only thinking about his future at Barca having only joined the club from Ajax last summer.

The American international bagged two goals and one assist in 30 league outings for Barca this past season, and at just 20 he should have potential to grow.

Arsenal have received little encouragement, and they can’t even just go and activate his release clause; it stands at a staggering £343million.

Barcelona fans have now been taking to Twitter to react to these rumours, suggesting that it would be stupid to let him go after just one year with the club.

Others believe that Dest is ‘untouchable’ at the Camp Nou because he is their new Dani Alves, seemingly warning Arsenal that it would be very difficult to land him this summer.
