Marcus Johns

A novice freelance writer, Marcus Johns first took to the pen in order to fill the void that is a Saturday afternoons shortly after calling time on his playing days due to injury. It was either that, or shopping with the wife!! At a young age, family ties convinced Marcus not to support one of those boring, winning all the time teams such as Manchester United, but that one day, West Ham United would take English football by storm with their slick passing game winning the hearts of the nation and worldwide plaudits along the way. At the age of 30, he's still waiting for this to come true. Growing up in Gloucester meant that Marcus was also subjected to the local religion of Rugby. Surprising himself with how much he enjoyed the combination of blood, sweat, cider and mass male nudity, he has gone on to play the sport all over the world. Despite this, Football has remained his one, true love and hopes that you will enjoy reading his points of view on both sports.
