Some Tottenham fans on social media aren’t overly enthused after it emerged that Paulo Fonseca has been offered as an option to become their new manager.
Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast claimed that Fonseca has been offered to Tottenham after it was announced that he’d be leaving Roma at the end of the season, and fans weren’t best pleased.
Perhaps Tottenham fans are being a bit harsh on Fonseca. After all, this is a coach who has managed in the Champions League.
However, his CV isn’t the all that impressive, he’s not won any major trophies in a top European league, and with Spurs having ambitions of competing for the top honours, it’s hard to say that Fonseca is the manager to guide them to the next level.
Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not the Portuguese gaffer is appointed at Tottenham, but if he does come in, it’s fair to say that it will be something of an underwhelming performance.
