Tony Adams told Stadium Astro that reported Arsenal target, Raheem Sterling, is playing ‘at another level’.

The attacker, who opened the scoring, helped England to a 2-0 win over Germany on Tuesday as they progressed through to the quarter-finals.

Whilst Sterling is thriving on the international circuit, back on the domestic scene, Edu is trying to make an ambitious move to bring him to Arsenal.

Well, one Arsenal legend in Adams is certainly a fan of the player, who was being questioned before the tournament started, but now he’s England’s top-scorer as they prepare for a quarter-final showdown with Ukraine.

“You know how I feel about Sterling,” said Adams. “He’s at another level. I told you before the Croatia game, he is our man.

“He’s our man who can take us all the way. He’s a little bit special the kid is. He can definitely do that.”

Arsenal are trying to make serious moves during this summer transfer window after a season of decline last season.

Signing someone of Sterling’s talents would be a huge shock and a statement of intent from those in the North London boardroom.

But it has to be questioned why the £49 million player (BBC Sport) would swap Champions League football for no Europe at all.

For decades and decades, players would have moved from Man City to Arsenal without hesitation.

But whilst those in Manchester managed to secure an Abu Dhabi-based ownership in 2008 that has taken their club to beyond levels imagined, the Kroenke’s have taken the life and soul out of Arsenal.
