Jermaine Jenas has criticised Liverpool superstars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane on Match of the Day on BBC One for their performances against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
The former Tottenham midfielder and MOTD pundit believes that Liverpool forwards Salah and Mane could not do anything of note against Tottenham on Saturday evening.
The Premier League game finished in a 1-1 draw.
Jenas on Liverpool duo Salah and Mane v Tottenham
Jenas said on Match of the Day on BBC One, as transcribed by LiverpoolWorld: “Let’s not forget, Liverpool have had a very intense few weeks and months, going behind against Villarreal early on and having to come back.
“They just lacked that bit of quality, I thought, in the final third. Usually those crosses you see being picked out, they just looked disconnected. Star players like Salah and Mane didn’t come to the party at all.”

Disappointing
In our opinion, neither Salah nor Mane could make a huge difference for Liverpool against Tottenham at Anfield.
Luis Diaz was arguably the best attacking player for Liverpool, and the Colombia international winger also scored the goals for the Reds.
Salah did try, but the Tottenham defenders were always on him and did not give him much to work with.
As for Mane, the Senegal international forward did play well in the second half, but his performance in the first period was disappointing.
Liverpool fans will expect more from Salah and Mane in the next game.
The draw at Anfield means that Manchester City now have a big advantage in the race for the Premier League title this season.
