Aston Villa winger Samuel Iling Junior looks set to be heading out on loan this summer, despite only moving to Villa Park during this transfer window.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have been busy in the summer transfer market but the Midlands clubs business really kicked off in earnest once Douglas Luiz departed the club.
Juventus pulled off the signing of Luiz after weeks of prolonged negotiations which eventually led to the Turin club offering Enzo Barrenchea and Samuel Iling Junior plus £25 million to get the deal done.
This led Villa to complete the signing of Amadou Onana from Everton as a replacement and the Belgian has had an exceptional start. As for Iling Junior, it appears the English winger is heading out on loan.

Samuel Iling Junior closing in on loan move
Iling Junior looked like a promising star for Juventus and it was hoped that Emery could get the best out of the Englishman.
However, Iling Junior is now reportedly closing in on a move to Serie A side Bologna on loan, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio claims the attacker is set to join Bologna, making the move sound imminent. He’ll be arriving at the Serie A club on a dry loan deal, which means Bologna won’t have an option to buy at the end of the season.
There’s no indication of the costs involved here, but surely Villa will have been looking for a loan fee and also the player’s wages to be covered by Bologna. That should become clearer soon.
Imperative for Iling Junior he gets game time in Serie A
The 20-year-old, as mentioned, showed glimpses of his quality but ultimately due to the level of squad that Villa have, it always looked like a difficult ask for the winger to break into the team.
The winger was not involved for Unai Emery’s side in their opening Premier League match of the season against West Ham United, and Iling-Junior is now returning to Italian football.
Last season in Serie A, Iling Junior made 24 appearances for Juventus and scored one goal and provided two assists. It is imperative for his development that he is given regular game time at Bologna.
