Aston Villa have wished Wesley Moraes ‘all the best’ after the striker sealed a 12-month loan move to Brazilian club Internacional.
Villa stumped up a whopping £22m to sign Wesley from Club Brugge in June 2019, but he’s only made 25 appearances for the club.

He played regularly during the first half of the 2019/20 season but suffered a serious knee injury against Burnley on New Year’s Day and hasn’t started a match for the Villans since.
The 25-year-old missed the vast majority of last season and spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at former side Club Brugge.
He didn’t make an impact back in Belgium, only making seven appearances and failing to score.
However, Internacional clearly believe they can get goals out of him, as they’ve snapped him up on a 12-month loan deal.
“Wishing Wesley all the best, as he heads back to Brazil on loan with Internacional,” Villa added to the official confirmation of his departure on Friday afternoon.
Internacional fans appear to be delighted that their club have snapped up the 6ft 4″ forward.
Multiple teaser tweets generated lot of excitement and then the announcement itself received over 10k likes and prompted hundreds of comments.
It’s relatively uncommon for a player to leave a club in January on a year-long loan, but this deal gives Wesley the opportunity to have a full season at Inter as he bids to get back to being the striker who commanded such a high fee in 2019.
He’s under contract at Villa Park until 2024, so if he does well in Porto Alegre, the Villans may be able to cash in this time next year. Or, alternatively, if he really excels, perhaps he’ll get another chance in Birmingham.
