Aston Villa and West Ham have received a boost in their respective pursuits of Reiss Nelson after he rejected a new contract at Arsenal.
It was the Daily Mail who claimed that Aston Villa are keen to sign the Englishman, while 90min believe West Ham are also interested in a deal for the winger.
Now, Arsenal look set to lose Reiss Nelson as West Ham and Aston Villa circle.
What’s the story?
Well – according to a fresh story by the Daily Mail – the Arsenal No.24 has rejected the chance to extend his 16 years at the club in order to pursue a new opportunity.
Nelson has played a bit-part role this season under Mikel Arteta, and despite popping up with some significant moments, including a 97th-minute winner in the 3-2 victory over Bournemouth, he now looks set to leave.
The 23-year-old’s current terms expire on June 30th.
In 17 appearances across all competitions this season, Nelson has scored three goals and also provided three assists.
Aston Villa or West Ham could get themselves a bargain
In our view, Nelson has the potential to be the signing of the summer on a free transfer.
The Hale End graduate has bags of ability, and the only reason he hasn’t seen more action this season is due to the impressive form of Gabriel Martinelli, as well as Bukayo Saka.
A thigh injury also disrupted Nelson’s first half of the 2022/23 campaign.

Nevertheless, the England Under-21 international looks to have matured this season, popping up with huge contributions for Mikel Arteta in a top level environment.
Should Nelson end up at Aston Villa or West Ham, he could kick on and develop into one of the most exciting attackers in the Premier League next season.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Nelson prepares to choose his next step.
