Aston Villa have certainly been busy in the summer transfer market with the Midlands club ready to embark on Champions League football.
Under Unai Emery, Aston Villa have pulled off a superb turnaround as the Villains secured Champions League football under the Spaniard ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
Villa have signed Ian Maatsen from Chelsea after his brilliant spell at Borussia Dortmund and the Dutchman has been joined by Ross Barkley, who has rejoined the Villains.
As well as these two additions, Villa signed Everton’s Amadou Onana and the Belgian has already made a positive impact for the Midlands club.
Whilst signings will be key for Villa, sales will also be important.

Philippe Coutinho suffers injury issue at new club
One sale that was probably needed this summer was Philippe Coutinho, who has had a torrid time back in England since being brought back in under Steven Gerrard.
Former Liverpool icon Gerrard brought Coutinho back into the Premier League and he made an immediate impact as he scored twice against Manchester United in a 2-2 draw.
Coutinho departed Villa to South American side Vasco De Gama and has featured three times for the club but the Brazilian has suffered an injury.
TNT Brazil has reported that Coutinho has suffered an injury problem with the 32-year-old reportedly signing for Vasco not fit enough.
Tests have reportedly revealed that Coutinho has an issue at the back of thigh, which would suggest it is a hamstring problem.
TNT Brazil report the player will be absent for Vasco’s upcoming matches although they don’t reveal a return date at this stage. For Coutinho’s new club it’s a huge disappointment given the big hope attached to his arrival.
Villa make right decision with Coutinho sale
The Midlands club paid off Coutinho’s contract which allowed him to leave Villa Park this summer and that has proven to be the correct decision.
Another decision Villa made this summer was Nicolo Zaniolo, who the Midlands club did not take up the option to buy the Italian.
This has again proven to be the correct decision and Villa will need to sell more players who are not wanted this summer as they hope to have a good season under Emery.
