- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Aston Villa have rejected West Ham’s latest offer for Jhon Duran but talks are continuing between both clubs.
The 20-year-old forward has emerged as a top target for the Hammers and technical director Tim Steidten this summer.
Aston Villa are holding out for an offer that meets their £40million valuation of Jhon Duran – a figure that West Ham are yet to hit.
The latest bid from the Hammers offered Villa £30million in cash plus 18-year-old midfielder Lewis Orford – a player that Villa have shown interest in.
The bid was rejected by Villa but talks have continued with both clubs eager to come to an agreement. There is now a growing expectation that a deal will be struck.

Aston Villa turn down chance to sign next Declan Rice
Villa didn’t think the value of West Ham’s latest bid was right, even though it included young prospect Orford.
The 18-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut but has been a standout for West Ham’s youth squad, helping them to lift the FA Youth Cup.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Orford has been dubbed ‘the next Declan Rice’ having grown up idolising the now Arsenal midfielder.
