Aston Villa are considering making a bid for Newcastle United transfer target and Everton left-back Lucas Digne, according to The Daily Mail.
The report has claimed that Villa, West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea all want to sign Digne from Everton in the January transfer window.
Everton are open to selling the 28-year-old France international left-back and are looking for £30 million in transfer fees.
The report has added that Digne’s salary of £128,000 per week is a potential stumbling block for the clubs who want him.
Aston Villa have advantage over Newcastle for Lucas Digne
In our opinion, Villa would be a preferred destination for Digne, and Newcastle could struggle to convince him to move to St. James’ Park.
We have covered reports claiming that Digne does not want to move to the Magpies.

And we can understand that.
After all, Newcastle are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Villa recently signed former Liverpool attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona and also have Steven Gerrard as their manager.
The Villans are unlikely to get relegated and could push for Europe in the coming years.
if Villa make a bid of £30 million and Everton accept it, then we think that Digne could join the Villans, meaning that Newcastle will miss out.
