Aston Villa are wary of late interest in Lucas Digne, as they aim to sign the Everton left-back in the January transfer window, according to 90min.

90min have reported that Villa are in talks with Everton over the transfer of Digne this month.

Both the Villans and the Toffees are confident of getting a deal done.

Digne himself is open to the idea of playing for Villa.

Chelsea, West Ham United and Newcastle United are also interested in the former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona left-back.

90min have added that although Villa are not desperate to complete the deal early this week, they are ‘wary of late interest from elsewhere’.

Lucas Digne to Aston Villa happening?

In our view, it is very likely that Digne will end up being a Villa player this month.

We do not think that the Villans need to be worried about any late twist.

The Daily Mail and The Athletic are among the media outlets who have reported that talks over a £25 million are in advanced talks.

Described as a “top-quality” player by former Everton and Villa winger Yannick Bolasie on Twitter on Sunday, Digne would make Steven Gerrard’s Villans a better team.
