Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has reportedly agreed to pay big money to sign Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth.

Aston Villa have done the right thing by spending big on Tyrone Mings, as it will provide a huge boost to the squad.
The Sun have reported that Villa will pay £26.5 million to sign Mings from Bournemouth, with the transfer expected to go through in the coming days.
The fee looks expensive for a defender who is yet to really prove himself at Premier League level.
However, Mings is so popular at Villa that the transfer makes total sense.
Mings was on loan at Villa Park last term, and he was one of the major reasons why Dean Smith’s side earned promotion.

Both Jack Grealish and John McGinn had gone on record to urge Villa to sign Mings this summer, in interviews with the club’s official website and Sky Sports.
It is fair to say that Grealish and McGinn were likely to be echoing the opinion of the entire squad about Mings.
And although Mings has cost Villa a significant amount of money, signing the centre-back was something that the claret and blues needed to do this summer, even if they faced paying over the odds.
