The Newcastle United target is said to be a £4 million Aston Villa target.

Aston Villa fans are reacting to reports linking the Villans with the Newcastle United goalkeeper, Karl Darlow. According to the Sun, Darlow is a £4 million January target for both Villa and Leeds United.
Summer signings Orjan Nyland and Andre Moreira have failed to impress since arriving at Villa Park, prompting speculation that the clubs’s new manager, Dean Smith, will look to strengthen his options in goal this winter.
And, having played under Smith and his goalkeeper coach, Neil Cutler, at Walsall, it is perhaps no surprise to see the Newcastle fringe player emerge as a possible target.
But what do those of an Aston Villa persuasion make of the rumour?
This is what they’re saying on Twitter:
Harry Tudge @harry_tudge: “We shouldn’t be buying for ‘this level’ because what spend 4m on him n **** him off if we get promoted? Heaton is a wiser choice”
Newcastle have abundant options in Darlow’s position, with the former Aston Villa youngster’s rivals including Martin Dubravka, Rob Elliot and Freddie Woodman.
And the Sun states that Darlow is desperate for games ahead of his return from injury, which is scheduled for before the New Year.

The newspaper adds, however, that whether or not the Newcastle manager, Rafa Benitez, will sanction the 28-year-old’s sale remains to be seen.
