Aston Villa look set to sell Jack Grealish to Manchester City – and Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard has been linked with replacing him.
Villa have tonight announced the stunning capture of Danny Ings, with a deal for the Southampton striker coming out of nowhere.
Ashley Young has arrived from Inter Milan whilst big money has been spent on Emiliano Buendia and Leon Bailey.
The problem for Villa is that homegrown hero Grealish now looks set to leave the club and sign for Manchester City in a £100million deal.
That means that, despite Buendia and Bailey arriving, Villa could yet move to bring another attacking player to the club this summer.
Sportmediaset in Italy now report that Villa want to sign Sampdoria talent Damsgaard, though face competition from Leeds United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Damsgaard not only impressed in Italy last season, but then became the breakout star fo Euro 2020 with superb performances for Denmark, concluding an arrow of a free kick against England at Wembley.
Damsgaard could cost around a quarter to a third of the Grealish money, and Villa fans seem pretty excited by the prospect of such a move.
Some are suggesting that Villa ‘know what to do’ and should go and spend some of the Grealish money on him before the likes of Liverpool do.
Others prefer Damsgaard to the likes of Todd Cantwell or Dwight McNeil, and believe that he would be a great replacement for Grealish.
