Aston Villa have added another Brazilian to their squad this summer.

Villa fans have every reason to be enjoying their summer. If it’s not 5-1 pre-season victories putting a smile on their face then big money deals like this one surely will.
The fee for Luiz is officially undisclosed but the BBC report that Villa have paid Manchester City £15m for the player, bringing their total summer spend beyond £100m.
Having signed nine players prior to Luiz’s arrival, Villa are not messing about in the transfer market. They have made an investment that they will hope can bring them long-term stability in the English Premier League.
Dean Smith will know it’s not as easy as that in practice and has the task of galvanising a much-changed squad into one that can compete in the top-flight and beat relegation as the first priority.
Luiz, still just 21, arrives with a good reputation despite not playing a single competitive game for City.
Last year Pep Guardiola told the BBC he had “huge capacity” to play for the English champions.
He’s spent the last two seasons out on loan in La Liga with Girona after having a work permit rejected in 2017.
Also a Brazil youth international, he joins up with compatriot Wesley who became the club’s first ever Brazilian signing earlier this summer.

A central midfielder by trade, he’ll be pushing some of last season’s stand-outs like John McGinn for a starting place in Smith’s side.
It’s fair to say that some Villa fans are very excited about his signature, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.
