Some Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that their former goalkeeper, Pierluigi Gollini, is about to join Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur.
What’s the story?
The Guardian have reported that Tottenham are on the verge of signing Gollini from Italian club Atalanta.
Spurs will sign the former Manchester United prospect on an initial loan deal.
Tottenham will have the option to extend the loan for another year or make the deal permanent for €15 million (£13m).
Spurs’ new director of football, Fabio Paratici, is the one who is driving the deal and likes the 26-year-old goalkeeper very much.
What are Aston Villa fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Villa fans are quite complimentary of Gollini.
Well, some of them anyway.
Gollini joined Villa in 2016, and after a loan spell at Atalanta, joined the Serie A outfit on a permanent contract in 2018.

The 26-year-old could not really make a massive impact at Villa, but the Italy international has been very good for Atalanta over the years, helping them become regulars in the Serie A top four and playing in the Champions League.
Gollini could eventually take over from Hugo Lloris as the first-choice goalkeeper at Tottenham.
