Calciomercato are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of signing Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta.
What’s the story?
It is being reported by the Italian news outlet that Tottenham have agreed a deal with Atalanta over the transfer of former Aston Villa goalkeeper Gollini.
The former Manchester United prospect will join Spurs on a loan deal with an option to make it permanent for €13 million (£11.22m) plus €2 million (£1.73m) in bonuses.
Talks were carried out by Tottenham’s new sporting director Fabio Paratici.
The report has added that the goalkeeper is one step away from moving to Tottenham ‘as a protagonist, to conquer the Premier League’.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart are the two main goalkeepers at Spurs at the moment.
Both are very experienced and very good, but both are in their mid-30s.
Gollini is 26 and has been playing regularly for Atalanta in recent years.
The Italy international goalkeeper has also played in the Champions League with the Serie A outfit.
Described as “excellent” by then Villa manager Robert Di Matteo on Sky Sports in July 2016, Gollini is clearly a player signed for the long term.
Lloris is unlikely to lose his place in the Spurs starting lineup straightaway, and Gollini will have to wait a bit to become the ‘protagonist’.
As for ‘conquering the Premier League’ with Tottenham, who knows, perhaps in the next two or three years, Spurs could win the Premier League title.
After all, they now have a transfer guru in Paratici who knows how to build a winning team.
Just look at what he did at Juventus.
