Some Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the news that Emile Smith Rowe has signed a new contract with Arsenal.
What’s the story?
As announced on Arsenal’s official website yesterday, Smith Rowe has put pen to paper on a new deal with the North London club.
The attacking midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Villa in the summer transfer window.
The London Evening Standard reported last week that Villa have had two bids for the 20-year-old turned down by Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Villa’s first offer was £25 million, and their second bid was £30 million.
Arsenal rejected both of them.
What are Aston Villa fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Villa fans are not that fussed that Smith Rowe has signed a new contract and will not leave Arsenal this summer.
Well, some of them anyway.
Smith Rowe has come through the Arsenal academy and established himself in the first team last season.

The Englishman scored two goals and gave four assists in 20 Premier League matches for Arsenal last season.
The youngster also scored one goal and provided three assists in the Europa League in 2020-21.
It was always very unlikely that the Gunners were going to sell the 20-year-old, especially for £30 million.
