Aston Villa are interested in signing Lucas Digne from Everton in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

The report has claimed that Everton left-back Digne is among a number of players Steven Gerrard’s Villa like.

Could Lucas Digne leave Everton for Aston Villa?

In our opinion, there is a chance that Digne could move to Villa from Everton in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old left-back has fallen out of favour with Everton manager Rafael Benitez, according to The Mirror.

Benitez is reportedly open to selling the France international defender this month.

So, there is a chance that Villa could sign him.

Moreover, Everton have signed a new left-back in Vitaliy Mykolenko already.

Now, of course, the Villans are facing competition for Digne.

Chelsea and Newcastle United are the two clubs who have been heavily linked with the former Barcelona left-back.

Digne cost Everton £18 million in the summer of 2018 when they signed him from Barcelona (BBC Sport).

The left-back has scored four goals in 113 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

In our view, Digne would be a good signing for Villa and would make Gerrard’s team stronger.
