According to CMW, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa have joined Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Andre Onana, a player who rejected the chance to join Arsenal.

The Italian news outlet has claimed that Villa are looking at signing Onana as a potential replacement for Emiliano Martinez.
Manchester United are among the clubs who are interested in signing Argentina international goalkeeper Martinez from Villa in the summer transfer window.
Villa could reportedly make a bid for €28 million (£25 million) for Onana.

Now, Andre Onana is a player who has been linked with clubs in the Premier League for a while.
The Cameroonian is one of the best goalkeepers out there, and he is only 26.
So, we can understand why Villa would be keen on the former Barcelona prospect who likes to play the ball out from the back and is very comfortable in possession.
Tottenham have been linked with the goalkeeper, who actually turned down the chance to join Arsenal before his move to Inter.
In February 2023, 90min reported that Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte admires Onana and wants Spurs to bring him to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the season.
Back in November 2021, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Arsenal were interested in signing the Cameroonian star.
However, as covered here on HITC Sport, the 26-year-old said no to Arsenal and turned them down.
Onana eventually signed a contract with former Serie A and UEFA Champions League winners Inter Milan.
