Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Brentford like Jacob Greaves and manager Liam Rosenior is convinced the Hull City defender is ‘going to be a Premier League player’, speaking via the club’s official Twitter account.
Few teams in the Championship have presided over so many changes in recent times, both on and off the pitch, as Hull City. Yorkshire-born Greaves, however, has been a pillar of consistency during a period of upheaval.
He made his Hull debut back in 2020, when The Tigers were still a third tier side, and remains an integral part of their starting XI three years on. A centre-half by trade, Greaves is showcasing another string to his multi-faced bow this term too; producing four goals and two assists from his new-look left-back role.

That flexibility will do the 24-year-old’s chances of a big summer switch no harm at all. And that’s without mentioning his homegrown status, his youth and his affordability. The Daily Mail believe that Brentford and a Nottingham Forest side with their fair share of defensive injuries are interested.
As are an Aston Villa side who, with Spain international’s Inigo Martinez also on the radar, appear to be prioritising a left-sided centre-half despite the fact that Unai Emery already has Diego Carlos and Tyrone Mings at his disposal.

Rosenior, meanwhile, believes it is only a matter of time before Greaves is gracing the top-flight.
“He’s going to be a Premier League player,” says the former Derby County coach. “I’ve got no doubt at all.”
Hull reportedly value the former Cheltenham Town youngster at around £7 million. But, while Rosenior is convinced Greaves will be a ‘Premier League player’ before long, that does not mean Hull have accepted defeat in their hopes of retaining his services for another season.
“I’m in constant communication, especially with Tan (Kesler, vice chairman) about where we go and what we look at. In terms of players we sell, that’s the nature (of football),” Rosenior explains.
“I’m not planning to sell anyone and nor is Tan. If an offer comes in, then that’s when you start to negotiate and see if it’s right for the club.
“Jacob’s an outstanding player. Would I rather have him here from a footballing point of view? One hundred percent, because he’s got so much potential and so much to learn.”
“He is brilliant. He’s naturally an outstanding player. He’s got a lot of potential, he understands the game. We’ll see in the summer what comes of (the interest).”
