Hull City boss Liam Rosenior admits the Championship outfit are hoping to sign Malcolm Ebiowei on loan from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace, speaking to Yorkshire Live.

Understandably, with Wilfried Zaha, Ebere Eze and Michael Olise all firmly ahead of him in Patrick Vieira’s pecking order, Ebiowei has found opportunities hard to come by at Selhurst Park since arriving from Derby County during the summer transfer window.

And that’s without mentioning Jordan Ayew either.

Ebiowei has made just three substitute appearances in the Premier League thus far.

And the England U20 international, who has also represented the Netherlands at youth level, could be set for a return to the second-tier in January; Rams coach Rosenior hoping to reunite with Ebiowei on Humberside.

“Things are going really well,” explains Rosenior. “We’re really clear on the areas we need to strengthen and what we’re looking for.

The top targets I have in each position look really good for us at the moment. And we’ll keep working on them.

“(Ebiowei) is one of a few people we’re looking at. It’s up to Crystal Palacae as his parent club what they do with him. He’s in our thoughts as many people are at the moment, but there’s nothing concrete right now.”

In addition to Hull City, The Sun believe that the tricky Ebiowei is also on Swansea’s radar. Once of Chelsea, Arsenal and Rangers; the 19-year-old scored once in 16 Championship appearances during an impressive breakthrough season at Pride Park in 2021/22.

“I am delighted with Malcolm,” Rosenior said during Ebiowei’s time at Derby. “And with his attitude and appetite to work hard for the team.

“What he has is real ability in one-on-one situations. He always wants more from himself. He expects to come on and dominate the game. And he just needs to keep his feet on the floor, stay positive and enjoy what we’re doing.”
