Aston Villa have made an offer to Franck Kessie, but the AC Milan midfielder would prefer a move to Barcelona, according to Il Milanista.
Kessie is out of contract at Milan at the end of the season, and Steven Gerrard’s Villa are keen on securing the services of the midfielder on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.
Villa have made the best offer to the 25-year-old midfielder, who also has a proposal from Barcelona.
And, according to the report, it is to the La Liga club that Kessie – described as a “very special” and a “very, very good” player by former Chelsea star Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport in December 2021 – would prefer to move to.
Aston Villa or Barcelona for Franck Kessie?
In our view, a move to Barcelona would be more appealing to Kessie than a transfer to Villa.

Yes, Villa are an established club in the Premier League and also have Liverpool legend Gerrard as their manager.
However, Barcelona are one of the biggest clubs on the planet and are a footballing powerhouse.
Barcelona head coach Xavi is one of the greatest midfielders of all time.
Meanwhile, Jeunes Footeux have reported that Villa are keen on signing Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara in the summer transfer window.
