Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there is ‘zero chance’ that Juventus loanee Arthur Melo will leave Liverpool in the January transfer window.
The £126,000-a-week midfielder has made a mere appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side, after having to undergo thigh surgery in October, as per the Athletic.
Keeping that in mind, it seemed likely that Arthur Melo would leave Liverpool in January, with a latest link to Palmeiras also reported.
So far, a number of pundits have not even tried to hide their disappointment at how things have fared between the Brazilian and the Reds, including Phil Thompson.
The veteran told the Express, “[Jude] Bellingham would be ideal but I just feel, like most Liverpool fans, we just need a bit of reinforcement in there. I don’t think the signing of Arthur Melo helped us in any way.
“It just didn’t seem to fit in, he lacked game time, so I don’t think that was helping us at all. But we certainly do need somebody.”
While it is impossible to disagree with Phil Thompson, it seems as if an exit in January for Liverpool ace Arthur Melo does not even seem to be on the cards.
A fresh update has now detailed the latest development around the 26-year-old.
Arthur Melo not set to leave Liverpool in January

Fabrizio Romano reports that there is no chance that Arthur Melo will depart Liverpool in January.
Additionally, the Italian journalist has stated that the Juventus midfielder is currently hard at work to fully recover.
Furthermore, the player himself aims to become a contributor to this Reds side after he is back from his injury woes during the second half of the season.
Ultimately, Liverpool fans may be disappointed by this news, as the news surrounding Arthur Melo staying in January means a new midfielder may not come through the door this month anymore.
