Brazilian giants Palmeiras are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo, with the Reds in talks to terminate the Juventus-owned maestro’s loan deal to facilitate a move.
According to journalist Felippe Facincani, Palmeiras are eager to bring Arthur back to his homeland having struggled for fitness and regular minutes at both Juventus and Liverpool in the last few seasons, with the Reds now believed to be ready to pull the plug on the midfielder’s loan deal.
With a £32m option to buy, Liverpool have seemingly already decided that Arthur is not worth the investment after an underwhelming loan spell on Merseyside, with the former FC Barcelona star spending the majority of his time in Anfield on the treatment table.
However, it now appears that there is a potential suitor in Arthur this January in Palmeiras, with the Brazilian club now in the money having recently sold star midfielder Danilo to Premier League side Nottingham Forest in an £18m transfer.

Indeed, with Arthur having zero future at both Juventus and now Liverpool, signing for Palmeiras is hardly the worst idea for the 26-year-old, who could benefit greatly from a return to his homeland and playing regular football with one of South America’s biggest sides.
Moreover, Liverpool getting out of Arthur’s loan deal will free up quite a large amount in the wage bill that could help Jurgen Klopp make a vital midfield signing in the window, with the Reds desperately looking for a new option in the market that could revitalise the squad.
Palmeiras signing Arthur is a win-win for everyone involved

Arthur’s move to Liverpool always felt doomed from the start, with the Juventus star underperforming for several seasons now and having an injury record that should have put the Reds off a move almost immediately. However, the deal as done, yet a return to Brazil with Palmeiras could be ideal for the midfielder.
As we know, Arthur has the talent to become one of the best in the world in his position. But, given that the midfielder has struggled at Juventus and now Liverpool, the 26-year-old would benefit greatly from returning home to Brazil to reignite his obvious quality.
