Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is reportedly a loan target for Championship clubs Sheffield United and Middlesbrough in January.

According to the Sun, the second-tier giants are eager to sign the Hale End academy graduate. With Balogun highly likely to leave Arsenal on loan when the January transfer window opens.

Balogun is one of Arsenal’s most promising youth players. However, since signing a new long-term contract with the club in summer, the 20-year-old attacker has hardly featured for the senior squad.

A lack of European football has meant Mikel Arteta’s team are fully fresh for Premier League and League Cup matches. Meaning the likes of Balogun, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli have missed out on vital minutes.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette leading the line for the Gunners, Balogun has simply not had a look-in for Arsenal. And a move on loan is expected to happen in January.

And a move to the Championship could be perfect Balogun, with the striker in need of regular minutes at senior football after dominating at youth level for some time.
