Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that Thomas Partey suffered an injury against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday evening.
Partey started for Arsenal in the FA Cup tie against Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The 29-year-old defensive midfielder did not come onto the pitch for the second half.
Arsenal lost the tie 1-0.
Arteta has said that Partey suffered an injury, and that the former Atletico Madrid star will undergo an MRi scan.

The Arsenal boss said about Partey: “Yeah he had some discomfort and it was getting worse and worse. He could not continue and he was not comfortable to continue.”
Arteta added: “No initial diagnosis. Tomorrow, or the day after it will have to be an MRI scan and we’ll see what he has.”
Worrying
In our view, Thomas Partey’s injury is really worrying for Arsenal.
Partey is one of the defensive midfielders in the Premier League and has been a key figure for the Gunners so far this season.
The Ghana international defensive midfielder has been a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park, and his performances have been hugely instrumental in Arsenal winning matches and going to the top of the Premier League table.
Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has raved about Partey, and so has ex-Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent, who described him as “the most important player” at the Gunners on TalkSPORT in November 2022.
Arsenal fans will hope that Partey’s injury is not serious.
