Paul Merson has raved about Arsenal defensive midfielder Thomas Partey on Sky Sports Premier League (6:25pm, December 31, 2022) for his performance against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that Arsenal star Partey is the best holding midfielder in the Premier League at the moment.
The former Arsenal star made the comments while analysing Arsenal’s first goal against Brighton.
While it was England international attacker Bukayo Saka who scored the goal from close range, it was Partey who won the ball in midfield.

Big player for the Gunners
In our opinion, Thomas Partey is one of the best and most important players for Arsenal and has been superb for the Gunners so far this season.
One of the big reasons why Arsenal are leading the Premier League table is because of the form and performance of Partey.
The former Atletico Madrid defensive midfielder has not been troubled by injury problems this season, like in previous years, and that has been massive for Arsenal.
In our view, if Arsenal are to win the league title this season, then Partey will have to be on top of his game throughout.
