Arsenal’s 2022/23 Premier League campaign has been nothing short of incredible, and for many supporters, Mikel Arteta’s best XI is nothing short of perfect.
With the right blend of youth and experience with each player role catered to the smallest of details, the former Manchester City coach has struck gold this season on his best Arsenal XI. Yet in football, there’s always a way to improve on a team.
And with the January transfer window, Arsenal could manage just that, though reports currently indicate that Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar have plans to bulk out the quality away from the starting XI and adding more depth on the bench.
Indeed, Arsenal’s XI going into 2023 is already pretty spectacular, and here’s what a dream team could look like if the north London side are active in the January market.

Mikel Arteta goes big on signing Mykhailo Mudryk

As reported by the Athletic, Mykhailo Mudryk is Arsenal’s top transfer target for the January transfer window, and with Gabriel Jesus set for a lengthy spell out on the injury table, there’s every chance that Arteta goes big on bringing the Shakhtar Donetsk superstar to north London.
Whilst Football London report that the winger could cost as much as £100m, there’s every chance that a deal can be done for a much lower transfer fee, with Arsenal also seemingly the favourites to land the Ukrainian international in the winter window.
Indeed, many supporters want Mudryk to be brought in during the January market, and with Arsenal set to go big on new signings, the attacker could form the part of a new best XI for the Gunners.
Gabriel Martinelli takes up new role in Arsenal’s best XI

As stated, Jesus is set for a long spell out on the treatment table after suffering a knee injury out in Qatar that could keep the striker out for as long as three months. And whilst Eddie Nketiah is the favourite to replace the Brazilian, Gabriel Martinelli could be an even better option.
The 21-year-old attacker has been one of Arsenal’s best players this season and has been a mainstay in the Premier League starting XI. And for many fans, Martinelli has the skillset to thrive as a centre-forward, a role the winger could now play with Jesus out injured.
As well as saving Arteta millions in the market, Martinelli’s role change will do little to disrupt the rest of Arsenal squad, with our dream XI featuring many names who have been regulars for the Gunners this campaign, such as Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and William Saliba.
