Arsenal will be in the market for a new striker next summer – and Sevilla hitman Youssef En-Nesyri is expected to make the move to England.

That’s according to Super Deporte, who claim that ‘everything indicates’ that En-Nesyri is heading to England at the end of the season.

Manchester United have joined the race for En-Nesyri’s signature but Arsenal remain interested in luring him to the Premier League.

Sevilla are so sure that En-Nesyri is leaving that they have already set an asking price of €42million.

That works out to around £36million, with En-Nesyri not exactly cheap.

En-Nesyri has so far been reluctant to leave Sevilla, believing that he wasn’t quite ready for the Premier League.

Come the end of the season though, the timing may be right for En-Nesyri as Arsenal prepare to battle United.

Arsenal’s interest in En-Nesyri

An interesting claim emerged from ABC de Sevilla in October. They suggested that Mikel Arteta specifically asked CEO Vinai Venkatesham to bring En-Nesyri to Arsenal.

Venkatesham approved the move but En-Nesyri rejected a move to Arsenal in favour of staying at Sevilla.

The 24-year-old striker smashed 24 goals in 52 games last season, becoming one of the top strikers in Europe.

Injuries have been a problem this season and En-Nesyri has managed just nine games, notching three goals and two assists.

With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah looking likely to leave in 2022, Arsenal will need another striker.

It sounds like En-Nesyri is still on the wanted list – and Arsenal will hope it’s a case of second time lucky.
