Kevin Campbell has said that Joe Willock would make Alexandre Lacazette’s game 50 per cent easier if he was played alongside him in the Arsenal starting XI.

The ex-Gunners forward was speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, and he named Willock as one of his favourite players at the Emirates right now.

“Let me tell you, I’ve played at striker, I know what he brings to the table, and it’s Joe Willock,” Campbell said.

“I am telling you now, He’s starting to grow into that role when he comes into the team now. He’s a striker’s dream, he would make Lacazette’s game 50% easier. Why? Because he runs beyond, a bit like Ramsey used to.

“Willock’s got energy to burn, and it’s very difficult to pick him up, so either the centre-half goes with the runner and Lacazette gets free, or the centre-half goes with Lacazette and Willock gets in over the top.”

This isn’t the first time that Campbell has waxed lyrical about the Arsenal youngster.

We can understand why as well, Willock looks like a positive influence whenever he steps on the pitch for Arsenal, but unfortunately, he’s rarely been seen this season.

He’s not played a single minute of Premier League football this term, despite scoring two in three in the Europa League, but Campbell seems to believe he should get more chances.

Arsenal do need to find a way to get the best out of Lacazette, with the Frenchman scoring just three times this season, and if Willock can unlock his talent, putting him into the side is a no-brainer.
