Kevin Campbell has highlighted Joe Willock as a player he likes at Arsenal while talking to the Highbury Squad YouTube channel.
The striker was running through a number of Arsenal’s youth prospects during a discussion on the channel, and he spoke very highly of Willock.
You can understand exactly why Campbell likes Willock, after all, he has scored two goals in three Europa League games.
However, away from European competition, he’s rarely been seen this season, not playing a single minute in the Premier League.
“I like Joe Willock, he offers something totally different. He runs beyond the strikers or the front boys.” Campbell said.
“I think that’s so important for a defence to have that to worry about you know, so they can take a step back and a striker can get a little more room. I think that’s key.”

The 21-year-old may not be getting many chances right now, but luckily, time is on his side.
He’s still incredibly young and he has many years ahead of him to impress Mikel Arteta, and if the Spaniard sees in him what Campbell sees in him, he may be convinced to put him into the starting XI sooner rather than later.
Saying that, we have to admit that it’s a little strange that Willock hasn’t seen a single minute of Premier League action this season, especially when you consider how well he has played in the Europa League.
Hopefully, Arteta hands him more opportunities going forward.
