Who is Charlie Patino?

17-year-old midfielder Charlie Patino is one of the most exciting young talents in the country.

The Arsenal wonderkid is of the Barcelona mould, known for his vision, first touch and close control of the ball.

Goal recently wrote about how the teenager could well be Hale End’s best ever graduate.

That is some title given that the academy has produced Cesc Fabregas and Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal to promote Charlie Patino

The teenager has continued to impress in training with the first team, he even came off the bench during a behind closed doors friendly with Brentford.

The Mirror has reported that Arsenal are set to promote Charlie Patino to the first team.

This is partially down to interest from Barcelona.

The youngster is said to be a fan of the Spanish side given the influence on his game from Andres Iniesta and Xavi.

Whilst the move is in part down to warding off interest it’s hard to argue that the decision comes too soon.

The wonderkid certainly has the talent to be in the mix for the senior side and as the old saying goes: if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
