Noel Gallagher has claimed that ‘Arsenal will become like’ Manchester City if they continue to operate soundly.

The Gunners are enjoying a wonderful Premier League campaign thus far.

In fact, that might be an understatement considering Arsenal are top of the table and boast a four-point cushion over Pep Guardiola’s side and Tottenham Hotspur.

For a team that finished outside the top four by a point last season, despite having no European football as a distraction, Mikel Arteta’s side are a different animal entirely this time around.

Time will tell whether Arsenal can sustain their Premier League title challenge because honestly, this is new territory for them as a team in its current state.

But it isn’t unfamiliar terrirtory for the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, both of whom won a number of titles at the Etihad prior to their summer moves to North London.

The former Oasis singer is a massive Manchester City supporter and Gallagher can see no reason why Arteta – a protege of Guardiola – can turn Arsenal into another City in terms of success.

He said to the Pub Talk podcast on YouTube: “He’s been taught off the best. It isn’t any wonder. Arsenal will become like City if they run the club right.”

It’s a prediction that’ll be music to the ears of Gooners everywhere, but is Gallagher right?

Well there’s a difference between winning the title once and then dominating English football like Guardiola’s side have done since 2018.

Then again, Arsenal fans won’t be caring about any sort of dynasty right now.

Winning the Premier League – their first since 2004 – will be the short-term priority and that’s how you build, as Arteta knows all too well having learnt his trade under Pep.
