Reports over the weekend claim that Arsenal want to sign Pedro Neto and could make a move as Wolves close in on Goncalo Guedes – but he could cost a huge amount given his contract, but Ainsley Maitland-Niles might help.
Neto, 22, has been a fantastic addition to the Wolves side over the past few seasons. Little surprise, he has emerged on Arsenal’s radar – with the Gunners said to be boasting a ‘long-standing interest’. But he would cost a pretty penny.
That is because the ex-Lazio man has a contract at Wolves until the summer of 2027. It means that the ball is utterly in Wolves park regarding a potential move. It also allows Wolves to request any price, and they will not want to lose him.
So, even if Wolves do complete a £27million move to sign Valencia’s Guedes, the chances of them bringing in Neto look slim. However, a move to land the winger could be enormously helped by current Arsenal outcast Maitland-Niles.

Arsenal want Neto: Maitland-Niles might help if included in deal
Back in 2020, reports claimed that Wolves were inches away from signing Maitland-Niles in a £20million deal. He remained, and after a loan at Roma, he has returned to Arsenal. But he was not in Friday’s matchday squad.
So, the England international is considered on the transfer list at Arsenal and the Gunners need to get rid. The chances of them getting £20million for him is completely unlikely. But he might just take the edge off a price for Neto.
Neto might cost a figure way north of £50million if Arsenal tried to sign him. But if they included Maitland-Niles in a deal, they may find a price that is more achievable. Edu has got to try and sign Neto in a swap deal including him.
