Arsenal transfer target, Djed Spence, is lapping it up after earning promotion to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
The 21-year-old has been a much-wanted man this season, with the likes of Arsenal rumoured to be keen to sign the £20 million-rated defender.
But Forest’s promotion to the Premier League has just made life difficult for the Gunners to sign the attack-minded fullback even though he is still a Middlesbrough player.
Spence was on-laon at the City Ground from the Riverside this season, and as things stand, he will head back up north.
But, he surely won’t be playing Championship football with Boro, especially given what he has done with Forest.
Yes, joining Arsenal and playing European football is the biggest lure, especially if they put money on the table for him.
But, Spence will now have a connection with Forest and will more than likely feel that signing permanently for Steve Cooper at Forest would be the best for his career.
At the end of the day, the winners will be those at Middlesbrough, even if they lose such a star player because a bidding war might commence for his talents.
But, at the end of the day, if anyone is going to go that extra yard and take that risk in signing Spence, then it will be Forest because they already know what he can do in their system
Either way, Spence is another all-action right-back that can add to their ridiculous number of fullbacks coming through the English system.
