Arsenal are reportedly considering a move to sign Chelsea star Christian Pulisic and have been offered the USA World Cup player – who surprised Thierry Henry earlier this season, by choosing to remain at Chelsea and not leaving.

Pulisic, 24, has spent the last four years on the books at Chelsea. But injuries and competition from other players have limited his amount of game time. The 54-time Brazil international has 47 goal involvements in 133 games for the Blues.

ESPN report that Arsenal, Newcastle and Man United have all been offered the chance to sign Pulisic. Injuries are said to be a concern, but it might be that Pulisic finds himself at a new Premier League club come the January window.

Speaking about Pulisic’s lack of game time ahead of the World Cup earlier this season, Arsenal legend Henry gave his verdict. He says he was surprised that Pulisic did not leave Stamford Bridge in the summer, instead staying at Chelsea.

“I thought Pulisic was going to leave. I think it was time for him to leave. But he didn’t. It’s over. That’s going to be the case up until the World Cup,” Henry told outlet CBS Sports in September, when asked about the ex-USMNT captain.

Arsenal considering Chelsea’s Pulisic: Surprised Henry earlier this season

Does Pulisic improve Arsenal’s side? No. Does he improve the depth of their squad? Yes. Would he want to join an Arsenal side, simply to be playing second fiddle to the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka? Probably not.

Therein lies the issue. Pulisic is already at a top-four side, failing to start regularly. At Arsenal, it would be exactly the same. He needs to move to a side where he knows he is going to start week in, week out. Newcastle, gives him that.
