Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal did not want to pay £50 million for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto in the summer of 2022, according to The Express.
The report has claimed that Arsenal had tracked Wolves winger closely in the summer of 2022.
However, Arsenal did not make a formal bid for the 22-year-old Portugal international winger, described as “exciting” by former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel last month.
Why?
Well, according to The Express, Wolves wanted £50 million for the winger, and the Gunners did not want to pay it.
Could Arsenal look at Wolves winger Pedro Neto in January?
In our view, Arsenal could well start looking at a potential deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto in the January transfer window.
After all, the Gunners are still being linked with the youngster.

The Daily Express reported in December 2022 that Arsenal have firm interest in Neto.
And, Arsenal have just missed out on the signing of Ukraine international winger Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea.
So, maybe, just maybe, the Gunners could be willing to use the money they were planning to spend on Mudryk and bid for Wolves winger Neto instead.
Neto has scored nine goals and created 19 big chances in 81 Premier League appearances for Wolves so far in his career.
