Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal look set to miss out on the signing of Weston McKennie to Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United, with Fabrizio Romano reporting on Twitter that the Juventus midfielder is about to undergo a medical at the West Yorkshire club.
The Italian journalist has claimed that McKennie will travel to England in the next 24 hours and will sign a contract with Leeds after passing his medical.
Personal terms have already been agreed between the midfielder and the Premier League club.
Leeds will initially sign the 24-year-old USA international midfielder on a loan deal and will have the option to make it permanent in the summer of 2023.
This development on the future of McKennie will come as a blow for Arsenal.
That’s because the Gunners have also been linked with the USA international, who played at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

According to a report in La Repubblica this week, Arsenal made a bid of €30 million (£26.5 million) for the American star.
However, it seems that it is Leeds who have managed to secure the services of McKennie.
Nottingham Forest and Fulham also tried with late moves for the Juventus midfielder, but he looks set to join Premier League rivals Leeds instead.
