According to GiveMeSport, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have real interest in AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, a player Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Graham Potter’s Chelsea also want to sign.

The report has claimed that Arsenal and Chelsea both are keen on securing the services of Leao from Milan in the summer of 2023.

Chelsea’s interest in the 23-year-old Portugal international forward is ‘pretty strong’, while ‘Arsenal’s interest is real too’.

According to the report, whether or not Arsenal are able to sign Leao next summer will depend on the transfer fee, but that is not the case with their London and Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Interestingly, Tottenham Hotspur are another London club who have been linked with the former Lille forward.

According to CMW in December 2022, Chelsea are interested in Leao.

It was CMW who had earlier reported that Tottenham are keen on signing the AC Milan forward, described as “a real firework” by former Chelsea and Liverpool star Joe Cole on ITV (8:03pm, November 28, 2022).

Earlier this month, MediaFoot reported that Leao has decided to stay at AC Milan and sign a new contract, snubbing the interest from Chelsea and Tottenham from January.

However, Arsenal’s plan is to try for the forward next summer, and we think that a move could happen, especially if the Gunners win the Premier League title.

And, interestingly, Leao recently told RDP Africa that he likes watching Arsenal and have been impressed by how they are playing this season.

Leao said in December 2022: “Experience in new league? Yes, in the future, but now I’m 100% focused on AC Milan. It’s a top club and I’m under contract there. I like the city too.

“I watch many games. This year, I like Arsenal. They’re playing very well.”

Stats

Leao has made 15 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A for AC Milan so far this season.

The forward has scored eight goals and given five assists in those matches.

The 23-year-old, who played for Portugal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, has scored one goal and provided two assists in six UEFA Champions League matches for the defending Serie A champions this campaign.
