Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is open to joining Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on January transfer deadline day, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano in CaughtOffSide.

The Italian journalist has reported that Arsenal have been considering Chelsea midfielder Jorginho for the past 10 days.

The Italy international midfielder himself is open to a move to the Gunners in the final hours of the January transfer window.

Former Premie League and UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea themselves are reportedly willing to sell the £50 million (Sky Sports) midfielder to London rivals Arsenal.

Romano has claimed that Arsenal are looking at Jorginho as a potential alternative to Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The Seagulls simply do not want to sell the Ecuador international midfielder.

Chelsea star Jorginho open to Arsenal move

Romano said: “Caicedo remains the priority but Brighton have absolutely no plan to change their stance, it’s really difficult.

“Jorginho is another option on the table; Serie A return has always been his priority, but he’d be open to join Arsenal. It’s up to Arsenal, if they want to proceed or not; he’s one of the player they have been considering in the last ten days.”

Encouraging

In our view, that Jorginho wants to move to Arsenal and Chelsea are willing to sell the Italian star is very encouraging for the Gunners.

Jorginho may be 31 now, but he is at the top of his game at the moment and is one of the best midfielders around.

The midfielder has won the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League with Chelsea and the Euro 2020 finals with Italy.

Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, and we believe that Jorginho would be able to enhance their chances of doing just that.
