In Arsenal transfer news, despite wanting Moises Caicedo it seems they aren’t giving up on signing another midfielder this year.

According to Sky Sports, the Gunners have seen a £60 million offer rejected by Brighton today for the Ecuador international.

Prising him from the Amex at this stage might be difficult, but Arsenal seem determined to land their man nonetheless.

Declan Rice has also been linked to North London over the past seven days, as reported by The Guardian.

And you could be forgiven for believing that their interest in Caicedo means that Rice is off the table, which is not the case.

Sky Sports reported today that signing Caicedo and the West Ham United midfielder is on Arsenal’s agenda for 2023.

The report adds that Rice wouldn’t be seriously pursued until the summer transfer window.

But Sky did stress that regardless of whether the Caicedo pursuit is successful or not, the England international is a target.

These are exciting times for Arsenal.

Not only are they top of the Premier League table and on course for a first title since 2004, but they’re being linked to some major players.

Bringing in both Caicedo and Rice this calendar year would be a stunning statement of intent, from a side – ran by Mikel Arteta and Edu – quite clearly determined to get better and better.

Indeed, the Arsenal transfer news is very exciting these days.
