Italian website TuttoJuve claim Arsenal are ready to blow their rivals away for Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda by tabling a fee of £17.5m – amid reports that Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also showing interest in him.

Still only 18, Fresneda has broken into Valladolid’s side this season. He has clocked up 11 outings in all competitions in the last few months. That has caught the eye of a number of big Premier League clubs – as well as others in Europe.

90Min say Newcastle, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have all shown interest in the Spain U19 ace. TuttoJuve now give an update, with Dortmund and Juventus also keen. They say Arsenal are ready to pay big.

Indeed, they are willing to splash £17.5million to sign Fresneda – and elbow their rivals aside. He would become Real Valladolid’s record sale if he does go for such a figure. That title is held by Southampton’s move for Mohammed Salisu.

Arsenal ready £17.5m Fresneda fee amid Newcastle, Tottenham interest

Fresneda has really impressed since coming into the side. But he has to be very careful when picking his next team. At a crucial stage in his career, he must pick the side that can offer him constant game time. Is a move to Arsenal right?

Probably not. The Gunners boast Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney at left-back. Tottenham have numerous options, with Destiny Udogie set to return from a loan in the summer. Newcastle could do with Fresneda at left-back.

But Dan Burn is shining, and Matty Targett and Jamal Lewis are also on the books. But with Raphael Guerreiro’s deal expiring at Dortmund, surely a move to the German side – who show faith in youth – would be his ideal scenario?

It remains to be seen if Dortmund or any other clubs are willing to match Arsenal’s imminent £17.5million offer. If the Gunners do sign Fresneda, you would suggest that Tierney’s future at the club is plunged into immediate doubt.
